Damien,
I really don't want to reply to this thread, but it seems to me that
this whole race issue is being blown to the infinite amount of
distortion on this thread. I will let TLC decide whether or not to make
DSM's or whatever politically correct term you want to use. I really
don't care if they do or not, because IMNSHO, TLC has been consistent on
the race issue. I really don't care what color you are, where you are
from, what religion you are, etc. I think they will be opening up cans
of worms to the race issue, which is so volatile in the first place,
most don't even want to attempt it. This whole thread is an excellent
example of this volatile issue. If you feel as strongly as you are
portraying yourself, go ahead, call race monger politicians, demonstrate
in Connecticut, contact various TLC officials, call Consumer Affairs,
start making your own versions of minifigs, etc. Discussing this over
and over again goes nowhere, on this issue, among others. People have a
wide variety of opinions, none are equal on this issue, among others
(Blue hopper class warfare debate), and your reference to "being
depressed about viewpoints" is troubling. We shall see how TLC handles
this, but from where I am standing:
1) They do not have to make DSM's if they choose not to. They are their
own company, after all.
2) If they do, they will open up many questions, which have been raised
in this discussion, IMO. Great if they do, great if they don't, as far
as I am concerned.
3) People have been so venomous about this particular issue, and the
posts on it, for awhile now, and nothing has come of it. It has been
raised to the about 4-6 times since LUGNET has been launched (AFAIK),
and it is tiring, because it is just a revolving argument. I can't
believe the number of posts on the Flashspeeder, in particular.
