To where I jump in to mention that I came to basically the same
conclusion while reading the Talkbacks on AICN for a new disney movie.
I had come to the sudden realization that Jar Jar was nothing more
than a Highly Irritating Disney Sidekick (TM).

They were absolutely loyal to the Emperor, and even kept order even within the ranks of the Imperial (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)
