So far, every SW character that has been featured in TLG's logo for the SW
line has eventually appeared as a minifig.  Boba Fett and Han Solo took
awhile, but finally showed up.  Stormtroopers are the only characters left
that have not appeared in ABS.  I think they will be next.  Perhaps they're
taking their time to make sure they get the helmet sculpt just right!

I have to assume you were only refering to the classic Star Wars lego line,
because if you consider the Phantom Menace line we are still missing both the
Queen, (the Padame figure doesn't count in my book) and Darth Sidious (or
Palptine in the worst disguise since Clark Kent).  I sit and think however,
where do any of these characters fit into a set?  If not a minifig pack, where
can these characters apear? Stormtroopers never piloted any vehicles, maybe
the dewbacks, the Queen was only seen traveling in her royal starship, that
would be a cool model, and Darth Sidious was only seen in holographic form on
any ship.  Perhaps that is why we havent seen any of these characters yet.

Well yes I was only thinking of Classic but who can fault me for that :-).  Yes
Darth Sidious or an Emporer would be nice.  I don't think you need a ship to
create a set (although seeing what we have so far TLC might think otherwise).
I think playsets would be really cool.  Just for Stormtroopers I can think of a
couple of playsets that would be cool.

1.  Carbonite freezing chamber.
2.  Mos Eisly-sp Cantina
3.  Death Star Docking Bay.
4.  As you mentioned with Dewbacks.

Plus that is just the very short list.

Playsets would be awesome. Plus, most of the Adventurers theme (jungle and egypt) and the Wild West theme were playsets. Heck, the tan baseplate that comes with the Adventurers Sphinx-like set (can't remember the name) would make a pretty cool (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)

<snip> (...) a (...) I think that TLC was trying the "playset" a little with the B-Wing. It's not too bad... I suggest that an Emperor (and an Imperial Guard or three) could show up easily with the creation of the Death Star II observation tower... (...) (25 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)
