I'll admit I'm feeling like some others here do.  Tim has always played  an
important role here on Lugnet but, a partial quote, "Lugnet is a somewhat
compartamentalized RTL".

There are still times when I find it worth posting something (like the
baseplate question on .general) but more and more often I see myself asking
"Is this really worth posting?"  More often than not the answer is "No."
because someone else already has or it's not "headline news" (pardon me
CNN).

Is lugnet too big?  Are we getting more from the LTC/LUG's many of us are
now part of than lugnet?  Maybe it's an "ain't what is used ta be" sort of
thing.  I honestly don't know the answer.

For the heck of it, I decided to go back to this date: March 9, 1999.

          What a waste.

To highlight a post about someone's hiatus?!?

I think it is a case of why he is leaving that got it highlighted not so
much that he is leaving. Tim was a great advocate for LUGNET and it is • very
disturbing that he feels he has to walk away for a while.

He said he'd be back.
Anyway, like it matterz

It does to some of us who have been here for a while.

Can we stick to more relevant topics for highlighting in the future?

<snip>

This topic is relevant, it is a warning to all of us that LUGNET is
changing, and we have to decide what it is going to become. The admins
decide the technical and administrative things but ultimately, we all • decide
the direction of the community.

Don't worry, in time it will disappear from the home page.
