Interesting - personally I listen to music that sounds good to my ears. I find the notion that because you are X you must
listen to a certain type of music odd - for example, as a Scottish person I don't feel any great compulsion to listen to
music made in Scotland, although saying that, I am generally pleased when I see a Scottish band doing well.
As a matter of conscience, however, I agree that if a lyric (for example) offended me I would probably not wish to listen
to the song.

Indeed - for many modern genres, it would indeed appear that the devil has the best tunes. I have no idea why this should
be - perhaps it comes from a degree of contrivance, i.e. bands that try to *be* something tend not to come across as well
as bands that just *are*. I also find that music with an overt message can sometimes leave a bitter aftertaste as well, be
it political, religious or what have you.

I went to a Petra concert once...because I had a crush (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)
