IMO, as a Christian, the music you listen to is a matter of conscience. There
is some good contemporary folk/alternative Christian music out there, but it
takes some persistence to find. I went to a Petra concert once...because I had
a crush on the girl that invited me. Ugh. I'm not sure that I can take more
than three songs a lifetime, but, it helps some folks out, so to each his own.

I find the notion that because you are X you must listen to a certain type of music odd - for example, as a Scottish person I don't feel any great compulsion to listen to (...)
