Hi, Karl. Thanks for your thoughts.

By “most recent installment”, I assume you’re referring to the Teachings of Jesus stuff from a month ago and not any of the many King Saul stories I’ve done since then, yes?

Yes, I just saw the note on the Saul stories, Yaay, more BT!

GWB calls special attention to his faith and Christian values and he has been calling the shots in the White House that seem to fly in the face of Jesus’s actual teachings.

Can’t argue with that one.

The illustrations of the non-narrative parts of the Bible like The Law of Moses and the Teachings of Jesus are intended to highlight how the great majority of of these Biblical laws and teachings are not being followed by modern believers, and to try to get people to question whether or not they should be followed by presenting illustrations of how things might look if these laws and teachings actually were followed.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I was noticing, there seemed to be a trend toward more commentary on percieved Christian inconsistencies. A bit annoying to those of us who are commited to the Christian life, but it is your art, and what’s art without an artist’s point of view?

you’ll be happy to know that it’ll likely be narrative upon narrative for the next many, many updates.

(Insert Flanders children voices) Yaay Biblical narratives!

I always hoped The Brick Testament would be a combination of beauty, horror, and laughter. :)

I should have been more clear, even at it’s most literal/narrative, BT is always the source of many, many giggles...

Now if you will excuse me, I’m off to see the adventures of King Saul...

(...) The commentary may be getting a bit less subtle, but it seems to me that it's been an integral part of the BT from the start. Fantastic work as always, Rev! I'll never look at that red kerchief-hat-thing the same way ever again! (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

(...) Hi Karl: I don't want to start a whole big thing here, but I think that "apparent" might be a better word to use than "perceived." The latter carries a connotation of "not really there," whereas the former admits that they do appear to be (...) (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)
