About your second point now. I thought wrongly that a member of the
transition team was a curator, moderator or something like that. If he were,
then yes, it would mean to me he should, as any person with this title, have
an iireproachable cnduct here, which means not posting such messages as he
just did. It doesnt mean an admin or moderator cannot express his opinions,
but rather that he/she must be more careful.

I would like to add some clarification on this:
A curator is someone who provides upkeep to a particular newsgroup, such as
keeping the sidebar links up-to-date, etc. This position carries no particular
authority, except as a bully pulpit. Curators tend to be respected members of
the community, which adds to their authority, but this is not always true.
A moderator is someone who edits posts, locks threads, and otherwise keeps
users acting within the ToS. Lugnet has no moderators.
Members of the Lugnet Transition Team, sometimes called Admins, are
primarily concerned with preparing Lugnet for the move from privately owned by
Todd and Suzanne, to publicly owned by the members of Lugnet itself. As such,
they are also concerned with developing and implementing new Lugnet policies
(such as the ForceFUT, etc).
It should be noted that here on Lugnet, Admins have the ability to turn off
their admin status. They do this by changing their posting identitfy to their
personal email, rather than their @lugnet email. If an Admin posts as a
non-admin, you should expect to see their personal opinions, biases, and even a
bit of witty sarcasm from time to time. You should not mistake their views as
the views of Lugnet or the Lugnet Transition Team.
If an Admin is posting with their @lugnet address (complete with their little
Lugnet symbol) then pay heed! They are speaking as a representative of
Lugnet, and their words should be considered Lugnet policy, and their warnings
are very real(1).
Just some clarification on this point.

PS. It should be noted that Im posting as a User, not an admin. ;o)
