Here's an alternate thought: sort the shop-list by date-time of their most
recent order. This *might* be viewed as punishing low-volume sites, but
those are probably not very active anyway--all it would take is a single
order to push a shop back to the top of the list.
And for the more-active shops, this 'sorting' will keep jumbling the list.
The sorting won't be very useful for locating a particular shop, but that's
why browsers have "find in page" functions.
Oh, and don't publish the date of the last order. That information doesn't
belong on the front page (or in any other public location).

| (...) you (...) set (...) The most effective way of sorting the shops would be to sort by country then by state. That way if someone really really wanted to be on the top, they would have to relocate from Wyoming to Alabama. But seriously, sorting (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
