Hi Matt,

SNIP
I have read LOTR and the Simeraillion sp? (which I prefer). I am
in less danger then yourself of stealing ideas since I, while not
historicaly accurate, encompace no magic or weird creatures in my writing.

Of course...However, intrepreting science-fiction into
my story, magic is possible in a technical sense.

LOTR is
almost a must read both for its wonderful messages and the way it is a
monument to creative kingdom/story/land building. If you are interested in
writing (like myself)

I've heard about Simeraillion...some fantasy geeks at
my school tried to 'convert' me to Tolkeinism. I read
a few pages, and somehow the mysticism and magic just
didn't catch on to me. Maybe I'm way too realist in
a sense. (that's why I'm trying to tie in some form
of logical explanation for every phenonema in my
book)

- then again, I wouldn't be at much of a loss to
read an excerpt or two...I'll renew myself later,
provided I can make sense out of it, whilst still
retaining any techniques of interest.

I would recommend you read the simeraillion because it
shows a monument under construction (encouraging if you would like to create
something in the book/world area.)

Hmm...some definitely inspiring genres to me were
the Final Fantasy continguincy, Metal Gear solid,
Ray Bradbury's writings, and James Bond. Also trying
to draw from Japanese and British culture as well.

Music: anything by Nobuo Uematsu, Hiroki Kekuta,
Masaharu Iwata ,probably one of the cores of my
inspiration.

Back to science fiction/ fantasy concepts...

Why can Skye and Dash cast magic? Simple, Skye is
Asce'rion, so being a descendant of humans whom had
integrated with technology, the very same prowess
was imbued upon her. Dash is half human, half Asce'rion,
notably a hyrbid, so he encompasses both the philosophical
prowess and phenomenistic intelligence as his human
counterparts.

Read more about Dash?

No I mean a world of characters from the stable boy to a random person on
the street. How can your characters stand out the way you want unless
different to the mass?

I'm also going to use race as a contrast. This should
work very well, actually. Scorpio differs due to the
fact he has little rank, and is arabic. Skye is latino
(sort of, anyway.), and Dash is a hybrid. Valencio
Garnette is a reptillian, descending from a race of
desert dwelling draconic creatures.

I am recommending as an author, if an my fan capacity I would have you
scrolling for years through my reasons. LOL.

True...I'll probably pick up a copy and brave through
it. Sorry, no elves, though. I'm trying to make some
sort of original impact.

Peace out,
