(The only ACL expansion that comes to mind for me Access Control Lists.
Is that which ACL you mean?)
I guess any old hierarchical system -could- use that general method for
defining and controlling areas of access...but in a "real" system where
security is administered at multiple levels, you'd want the ACL's to be
strung together on-the-fly as you successfully probed deeper and deeper.
You wouldn't want someone with, say, Code 7 clearance to be able even to
view the ACL's of someone with, say, Code 10 clearance.
