Or maybe I'm missing some of the details.  I think *that's* what Mark
and some other people would like to discuss.  If you're not willing to
share them, nobody can make you, but even if that's the case you can
certainly appreciate that a great many AFOLs would be very interested
in discussing something like this.

Except for the fact that I have spoken to Christer on the phone one
time, and that he faxed me some information from TLG, both facts being
things that increased my confidence that this might happen, but which
added no other information, everyone who has read this whole thread
knows everything I do, other than details specific to internal
consortium mechanics like what the current low bid for burst/fulfil
is...

I was told 500 was the minimum run for one color of one part. It
personally seems low to me, and that's one of the reasons I'm so worried
about expanding the number of different parts/colors.

My sense is that this is only semi-official at TLG, not 100% approved by
KKK himself, so the reason for all the "cloak and dagger" is because I'm
nervous about souring the whole thing if it gets blown up into something
too elaborate or gets a lot of official attention. That and I don't have
the time to get into big discussions.

I think, and this is not an attack on Adam per se, Adam's proposal is
very very unworkable. In reading through it I spotted at least 2
different flaws that would cause consensus to collapse part way through,
as well as a serious misconception about how the TLG-Christer-us
communication would work. It seems to have been put together by someone
who has never done large deals.

Train windows are what I care about more than anything else in the
world, partswise, so I'd rather this consortium run to conclusion
without a lot of dilution of focus. If it worked out profitably for all,
including TLG, we could work to convince TLG to do it again with a
different focus.

Christer, our contact, is a train head too. Just the luck of the draw, I
guess. I still want to repeat NOTHING may come of this. This uproar of
wanting to add additional parts etc. is just what Christer warned me
about as possibly souring the deal.

In fact, my confidence is starting to drop again, precisely because of
the elaboration of this thread and the likelyhood that it will drag on
quite a bit farther. Every post knocks a half percent off the success
probability is my read.

I have to say it's a pretty good twist that I find myself in somewhat
the same spot as Sanjay, except I did what he didn't, I'm trying to
bring others in. I still disagree with him but certainly can better
sympathise now.
