I've thought of another part: curved beams.
Take a beam (traditional or studless) and bend it about an axis
perpendicular to its length. For example, you could have two different radii
so that curved train track could be supported under both rails.
Actually, there are two axes perpendicular to the beams length. The other
axis would be parallel with the holes. Imagine a bent liftarm:

that made a smooth curve instead of an angular bend.
Also, you could make curved rack gears so that they snapped onto the curved
beams. This would allow you to make extremely large diameter gears.

| I'm sure I'm not the only one who sometimes wishes for certain parts that TLC don't make .... yet. So, in hopes that it might inspire some Lego design engineer somewhere to go ahead and just make a few, I've decided to maintain a list of such items (...) (23 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)
