I've been buying boxes at Target which are the same size as the Plano 3700 boxes but the dividers fit much tighter, plus there are twice as many positions for the dividers. Now if only they carried the thick boxes also... I just did some serious (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-99, to lugnet.storage)

I'm about to start teaching a robotics class for 7th and 8th graders and will have 6 Mindstorms kits. I've purchased a system like this. It is four plastic boxes with square holes that decrease in size from the top tray to the bottom tray. It is not made by Lego. It wasn't cheap... maybe $20, possibly more. But it is handy, to some extent. When (...) (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.storage)

I've done clumps but it's more work. Also I had read that there may be some weakening of gripping power after many years kept assembled. I had some clumps of 2x4s that had been clumped together for 25 years. They don't grip very well. That is (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jul-99, to lugnet.storage)

Ed, your system sounds like Conan's (the GMLTC host/chief lunatic) in a lot of ways. (...) He has about 100 or so of these. 40 of them are for basic bricks and plates, and 30 or so for slopes and windows. A final 30 or so have train parts, hinges (...) (26 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

I combine building with sorting. Most of my pieces are sorted following the colour and type rule, each separate. But with bricks and plates, I "build" them, and then store them. By building, I stack the pieces together, and they fit quite well into (...) (26 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.storage)
