Hi,
Has anyone had experience with this?
How would one pack up a set for a really long time,
for, say over 30 years? A bunch of questions come
to mind, and I'm not sure what's important.
Are there any special requirements for ABS plastic?
Would it matter if the set had styrofoam as part of
the box construction (like many 70's sets did)?
Should boxes be sealed (like in ziploc type bags)
or allowed to "breathe"?
How about acid-free paper wrapping around the boxes?
Why am I asking? Not sure, really. I got a number
of older toys from my dad when I was little, and
they weren't in good shape anymore. In case I
ever have kids, I'd want my "antiques" to be in
better condition than those I got from my dad.
I suppose bottom-feeder auctioneers might be
interested in this, too, but I suspect the time
scales I'm talking about are too long for them.
Thanks...
-Tim
