Some of my pictures are at BS only asuming that I trust(ed) that my stuff

You should never use ANY place ( your own HD, one particular floppy, BS,
some other site) as your one and only place to keep something you consider
important.

If it's important, keep it in multiple places. That piece of advice has
nothing to do with BrickShelf.

/agree with ++Lar.

I mean, what if BrickShelf's HD were to die quite by accident?  That has
nothing to do with any 'malicious' intent on people's part and yet your
photo's would still be gone.  Then who do you blame?

I have my little web site (http://sparky.i989.net) that's served frm my
little computer at home (Compaq Deskpro en 6300 w/ 10 gig HD) and I put all
my LEGO pics up on that (http://sparky.i989.net/legop1.htm) as well as a
whole slew of other pics.  My web site now all totalled is about 500-600
megs big (that's alotta pics!) and I know that if my hard drive were to fail
tomorrow I would lose 4 years of digital pictures that I took of various
things and/or events in my life.

But wait!  I have a burned copy of my web site, as well as all my pics, on
CD (new one burned monthly), and here's a mirror of my site on this hard
drive over here, and I always carry a copy of my site on my laptop so even
if I'm not connected to the internet, I can still modify and upload later--Phew!

You can't cover the things you have no control over, such as hardware
failures, hackers and other things that may cause your pics to disappear on
a server outside your direct control, or even in your direct control.

Every single text book concerning system support will state
emphatically--Backup Backup Backup!

Anyway, throwing it out there.

Never trust others to look after your stuff, and especially never trust a
computer system to not ever fail! :)
