I'd like to post some photos of my train, other parts of my LEGO
collection, etc., but I'm accessing the net from work.  Does
anyone recommend a (free) web-site hosting place, or have lots
of excess room to host a section for me?  John?  (I know Chris'
is on his own computer, so probably not the best solution.)

One friends' stuff is here now. I don't lack connection speed or space:

ami-cg ~ % cd /home/httpd/html
ami-cg /home/httpd/html % df .
Filesystem           1k-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda7              2035606    417462   1512920  22% /home
ami-cg /home/httpd/html %

(In other words, there is about 1.5 Gig free on the partition that has
the web pages on it.) My main restriction is: no cgi. My friend Don
has an account here, and he can use ssh to log in to the system to edit
his pages directly. There is an ssh client for Windows (dunno where,
but likely findable via ssh.org), but you would have to know how to
use some Unix tools to set things up. You could probably get away with
editing on your local machine, and then using "scp" (ssh's copy command)
to copy the stuff over.

Don't design inefficiency in - it'll happen in the implementation.

(...) No Color Graphics Interface? (That's the only CGI I'm familiar with) I was thinking more of your "conditions of use" - ie. too much uploading. The ideal solution would be for each of us to have our own section within a NALug site, such as (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) My train is two modified 4559s with 3 3/4 "low-boy" cars. They carry cargo containers just like the 4549s (of which I have at least one) except that they're yellow instead of grey. I should be able to bring the whole train. Should I leave my (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)
