Too bad because I've decided to recant. (mark your calendars people, this
doesn't happen that often)
Rereading what I said, I think I may have gone just a teeny little bit too far
and built myself a house of cards that I can't support in the harsh light of
day.
Peter Calloway said it best, if we went along with what I said, we'd be
kidnapping (and making wards of the state if a volunteer didn't come along to
take them in) every kid from 1/2 the countries on earth that happened to pass
through the US.
That's not workable. So never mind.
I still think Reno is a mealy mouthed thug and thug enabler who wouldn't know a
rule of law if it smacked her on the back of her hand. And I still think this
case is about asylum not custody, and I still don't support Elian's father
having custody just yet because I don't give any credence to Cuban courts, even
family courts.
But... no kidnapping, sorry I suggested it.
