WARNING! Don't take your kids to America, you might never see them again!
This is frought with danger. Based on China's human rights record (and gross
overpopulation) if a Chinese family visited the USA with a young child, would
you advocate nabbing that child. Our own record in Australia isn't to bright
at the moment either with respect to the Aborigines, so if an Aboriginal
family turned up, would you nab that child too? We tried that back in the 50's
and 60's and look at the trouble it has us in now.
And where do the American Indian kids go? You can't nab them, they're already
there! I'm being (non-denominational) devil's advocate here.
Arguing that the father is morally broken because he wants to take his kid
back to Cuba is treading dangerous ground, even if the intention is good.
Snatching kids willy-nilly is tantamount to kidnapping. Your own courts look
harshly upon parents kidnapping their children because they believe that the
child will be better off with them than the other parent.
This is an interesting debate, I'd like to continue it.
