D-Day is all of 20 minutes of the film.
|
The film is longer than 20 minutes.

Your command of the obvious is impressive.
|
Even so, were the pathfinders on all
the beaches not Brits?
|
What the heck is your point? You really will argue about anything!
|
Also, in WW2, what would the chances of a black guy
(Diesel) being in a frontline squad be?
|
Again, it is a movie, not a documentary.
|
Were non-whites not relegated to
logistics (as they could not be trusted to fight by those who knew best)?
|
Again, what the heck is your point? (that is a rhetorical question because I
have no interest in persuing any more tangential discussions with you)

Either way SPR is not the history lesson some would suggest.
|
Thank you for all of that straw man blather. Now, who suggested that SPR was
a history lesson? All I ever suggested was that the opening scene (at Omaha
beach) gave a chilling and sobering account of the sacrifices that were made on
my behalf. Thats all. And from what I have heard from accounts of those who
were there, it was the most accurate depiction of what actually occured. So
while it may have had a few blacks in it (God, only an Ass would bring up such
a criticism!), the overall portrayal was true.

| John I cant help but think you are over-egging this. You force feed your teenagers this flick if you wish. Ill focus on why D-Day had to happen, why men had to die & what would have happened if D-Day had failed. Scott A (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)
