I'd also go with the VW bus.  I think it has to do with the stereotypical
image of Jesus left over from Sunday school mixed up with childhood
memories of hippies-- it's easy to imagine Jesus driving up Highway 1
giving rides to hitchhiking apostles.

Just like a rebellious child: his dad had a Plymouth (God drove Adam and Eve
from the Garden of Eden, "in a Fury!" - thank you, Scott Ostler).

Yeah, if Jesus had to actually drive himself (SoCAl) it would be a VW MicroBus.

I suppose the more interesting question is what would Satan drive?

Lowered black Acura with tinted windows?  In a Stephen King novel he
drove a black Oldsmobile Toronado.

I thought the answer obvious: Lamborghini Diablo, painted
Give-Me-A-Ticket-Red.  Now that I think about it, what did Elizabeth Hurley
drive in Bedazzled?

I remember in High School my friend's dad had the Black Toronado with
four-barrel carbs.  He pinned the speedo at 145 and set the speedlock on.
So maybe Stephen King has a point....

Zeus?  Buddha?  Brahma?  Lugh?  Shiva?  Hermes?  Set?  Thor (something more
up-to-date than a goat cart)?  Aphrodite?  No, sorry, it wouldn't matter
what Dionysus drove, he's get so many DUIs that they would take away his
license.  Brigit?  Chernabog?  Inquiring minds want to know!

(...) I don't know-- Jesus was too much on the straight and narrow to drive a fried-out Combi. I'd see him more at the helm of the Patridge Family bus, and if he were driving in road-rage-ravaged LA, the sign on the back of the bus would say, (...)
