What I was actually refering to was the text on the group pages.  I find the
sizing scheme for the various areas odd.  I feel the page would work a bit
better if the messages were larger - at least the same font size as the
charter - and the message headers one size up from that.

And, as I forgot to mention, the text size is also too small (for me) to be
comfortably scanned on the compact listings (and presumably on the others, as
well)

OO!  OO!  Tried it.  Liked it.  No further testing necessary.  Now, if only I
could get straight there from /traffic/.... ;-)

4: Message display appears to be fixed at half my screen width.  This is
mildly irritating, since I almost always have to scroll down now, even to
read a short message.

Fixed at half on all of the pages or only the intro-pages?

Fixed at half on the actual message header and text.  The 'replies to' and 'in
reply to' boxes run the width, and I suspect) the thread graphic does as well.

Ok, having paid more attention this time, it doesn't seem to be fixed at half.
Rather, the width seems to be determined arbitrarily, and I'm not sure by
what.  None of the messages I've read to date have been wider than 1/2 my
screen, but several have been smaller, to about a minimum of 1/3 width.
I'm not sure what's going on.  Perhaps the web interface wraps the message box
at whatever width it comes in at?  That would put messages that came in via the
web about 1/2 width.  <shrug>  I dunno.

(...) I could make the subject line one size larger in the compact listings, if that would help. It's at SIZE="-2" now, and it could probably go to SIZE="-1" and still fit 20 messages on a 800x600 laptop display. (...) OK, give that a shot now. (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Yes and no. I hadn't actually noticed that yet when I posted that, but yes, I find the quoted text too small/light/hard to read. I thought it worked quite well when quoted text was simply italicized and faded once, rather than getting (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)
