O.k. well, so far as the ‘good-guy’ multi color knights go,
there are 6 of ‘em right?!?

Lt. Blue
Blue
Red
Sand/drk. Red
Green
Purple

Is this correct?

Man, do these ever contrast with my overall army.
This is far too fantasy, and not the decent kind of realist-fantasy,
but the goofy ‘Barney-version’ of super-hero flaky-fantasy.

And I thought TLG was doin’ good with a direction towards realism.
But now, it leads to all kind of stupid things…like orange and pink knights.
The swords look to be more useable in the 34th century…
Couldn’t the swords at least hold the standard gray, in whatever shade.

The “Spectrum Knights” TM, as I will call them, are semi tolerable as some sort
of magical edition of enchanted armor crusaders, but to have all new and
corny-lookin’ weapons as well makes everything less desirable. The new swords
look like Masters of the Universe He-Man swords…this is so un-Lego-like!
(More like Mega Blok Power Rangers!!!)

New parts are one thing, new colors are another, but new parts *WITH* new colors
just makes the new Castle year of 2004 standout as completely different and
disassociative to the rest of the systems history…this 2004 range is drastic to
say the least.

However, this doesn’t mean all bad.
I along with most people am ecstatic with the return of Euro-style body armor!!!
And set 8777 is simply spectacular. (I love reading everyone’s thoughts on this,
particularly when they said: “Army Building” and “legions of Black & Blue
knights") Looks like I'll be using Brasso, or paint to redo the Blue knights
though…

I think the general agreement is that the ‘bad-guys’ appear to be most
excellent. The new roman-esk helm (8778) is perfect…I want so many of those…I
wonder if a new accessory pack will soon become available to offer these in
bulk? Or better yet, a $1.99 poly-bag type set with a minifig with the roman-esk
helm, and a shield and sword… But most likely with a crossbow and a scorpion…
Haahahaaaa <this sucks so bad>

Does anyone else think it’s lame to call this ‘Knights Kingdom’ and only have
one remnant of the old knights kingdom…that being Leo and his signature banner.
I think TLG just liked the name, so they decided to market this new fantasy
version under the old familiar guise…they are becoming so lazy lately IMHO.

Just one more thing, in set 8780, does the wizard have a two-toned beard?
Is this the first step towards color-blending!?!
So many changes so fast, I sense the desperation of a failing company!

Just waiting for the day when these ‘Care Bears’ in armor will début,
