Last night was toying with some minifig dat files I created with the nifty leocad minifig modeler when I spotted what looked like some bad type 5 lines on the hands. Copying some lines from POV-Ray's representation of Color 383 (Silver), a metallic/chromy version can be acheived. To get a good gold (...) The "danger/caution stripes" pattern version is _also_ used with the current "Space Shuttle" set, which is part of the "Space Port" theme, which is (usually) part of "Town", so "p01" would be "in accordance" with our previously established numbering (...) You need to re-position this DAT file. The "origin point" (i.e., the point <0,0,0>) should be _centered_ at the _top_ surface. You've got the origin offset to the _bottom_front_corner_, instead. Normally we would have a basic dat file (eg 30296.dat) for the part without any printing and all in colour 16, and a separate dat file with a pxx suffix for decorated parts (eg. 30296p01.dat). OK, I've nearly finished the 8880 set in mpd form. It's missing 4 parts, however: 4x6plate with H shaped hole (6543) stick shift (6549) technic wheel (2998) technic tyre (2997) I could get by without the top two, but it doesn't really cut it without (...) Here is a Duplo 2x2 with eyes on both sides. It's a fairly common piece, and I thought it would be a great first printed piece for me to do from scratch. Here's the soccer ball, with the GDL converted to standard LDraw. No LDL or MPD. I also just realized that there are no conditional lines between the facets. Oops. Here is an MPD with LDLite code for a soccer ball. The LDLite language extensions allowed me to generate and use the exact values for the vertices more easily than raw LDraw code.
