I like the flattened sides simply because they are a visible feature of the
bricks. But then I would also have tackled the little depression on the top
center, too.
There is the fact that this particular detail varies from brick to brick. The
older bricks have smooth walls, and on the newer bricks the orientation of the
flat sides varies from brick to brick by an eighth of a turn. I suppose in the
case of a small detail varying like this, the best thing to do is to approach
the lowest common denominator and leave it off.
Have you looked at my 2x2 with flattenend sides?

| (...) True. But the internal supports are also a very visible feature if you look underneath- much more so than the flattened edges in my opinion. And we seem to be agreeing that these aren't important. These and the top depression also add a (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
