Finally.

That's twisting stuff around, because I've recused myself in the past, and
you're implying that I didn't.

Well to be pedantic, there were 2 statements in your sentence, Kevin's response
could have been referring to either (or both).

The LUGNET admins do not keep a list of who has blocked whose emails, nor should
they. That means that if someone blocks emails from an admin (justifiably or
not) they're at risk of missing official notifications. In this case we'd
probably remember, it's hard to forget such animus as yours, but it nevertheless
is a risk, especially if just done quietly by the blocker.

We assume that the email used to register and the email that is part of the
posting identity (after decode) is a VALID email. If it's not valid, if it
blocks incoming mails from admins, or if incorrectly treats mails from
legitimate addresses as spam, that's technically a ToU violation.

Which brings up another point - do official mails come from the @lugnet.com
addresses, or from your private emails? I would suggest it would be best if it
could be arranged for them to come from a @lugnet.com address - that would make
it easier for members to make sure they aren't SPAM (or otherwise) blocked.
Don't know if it's something that's easily set up though.

(...) While using a "From: ...@lugnet.com" address can help with spam filter issues, I don't think it would have helped in this case, since the problem sounds like it was an actual inability of Larry's mail server to deliver mail to Kevin's.
