Which is the "best" Technic model?

There is always a lot of talk relating to the the 8880, and each of its incarnations (8865 etc.). I've had all of these at some point {1 & 2}, and I'm afraid I don't rate them all that highly - I did not enjoy building my 8865. Until recently, 8862 (...) (...) Well... any changes you do to your VB code are done "online"... "online" on your *PC* that is. Then you'll have to recompile your PC's VB code and, when running your VB app, only then, the p-codes are sent to the RCX, by the Spirit.OCX (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Y2K Catalogue - Where is it?

I did a quick tour of my local Lego stockists at the weekend.... still no sign of the Y2K Catalogue yet here. Has anyone else struck gold yet? I'm sure I had the '99 one by this time last year(?). A worried Scott A (25 years ago, 17-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
