I dont think the need for the IOLTC would be dealing with LEGO as a group,
but more for dealing with show promoters as a group. I think once shows
catch on that we are talking with each other and such, then we're in a
better position to negotiate better fees for displaying at such shows.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't do the shows for the money. But I'm getting
say $200 for a GATS show and I learn that other clubs are getting say $250.
Then I'm going to start asking for $250. It's been hard to judge what to ask
for in the past since the whole LTCs at shows is fairly new ground (I know
the GMLTC has been around for a while, but not as an LTC).
So I think that is more the reason for the forming of the IOLTC, to unify
the train clubs. I think it's about sharing ideas and experiences, helping
each other from things we've learned at the shows.
