The 4.5 V motor is taller that the nub on the 9V motor so any train in which the 4.5V motor fits the 9V motor will also fit. Actually, you will need to add bricks to make the 9V motor fit. When adding a 9v motor to set 7720 I added two 4x4 plates to (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

I've simply used 2x2 plates that have a rounded end (looking down on them) with a hole at the rounded end. It accepts the magnet holder piece from the coupler and eliminates the rather unsightly 'buffer' things. To get the height right, you can (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

I read lugnet.trains every day. The traffic here is, well not much traffic at all. I would be opposed to splitting off sub topics until the traffic merits it. Great idea, Todd. Helping other groups get off the ground is a core part of PNLTC's Mission Prospectus and it certainly makes sense for any and all groups to coordinate -- ultimately, I foresee this as much more clout in dealing with TLG. Yes, it is. The 12V guage is the same as the 9V and even the motors are the same size, so you shouldn't have any problems running the 7745 on 9V track with a 9V motor. But, if you are getting 12V track with the train, try running the train on 12V (...) (25 years ago, 13-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)
