Yes, a little thin, I can agree with that. I think it should be beefed up a
little, but it is just so easy to slap on a SW cockpit.
|
Beware of easy parts and woman theyre tricky!
|
|
Secondly, I
think the underside nebulon-b style fin is a bit too big compared to the
rest, so I would suggest you take out the blank part above the nukes out
(together with the brown slope).
|
I will probably try that although I do like the overall height of the fin.
|
That would be nice, as the blank black part seems a little neglected as it is
now.
|
|
Speaking of nukes, what does Viking
need those for? They have to be able to loot afterwards!
|
My particular Vikings seem to have evolved into the shoot first, think some
millenia later variety!
|
Or perhaps their long absence can be explained by the time it takes to find and
breed on mutants that can survive it ;-)
|
|
About landing bays I dont think the craft seems particularly difficult, as
you usually have to be able to get much bigger craft inside than fighters
(shuttles, supply crafts, troop carriers and the like),
|
Damn, you mean I have to build more?
|
If you whish to make a full fleet detachment, Id expect at a couple of escort
frigates for heavy fire support as well as at least 4 smaller support crafts (to
secure a perimeter against fighters), 50+ fighters (bombers and fighters, you
might need another carrier). To that come a number of assault landing crafts (if
you whish to get down to loot) large enough for the job, as well as some kind of
larger supportcraft for them (accommodation, leisure, supplies, medical care and
stuff), but this might be switched for a swarm of small transport crafts, but
now were probably talking more frigates and perhaps a battleship. That might
seem like an awful lot of work, but the good part is that it would probably be
enough to beat the entire fleets of both the Reich and commies ;-) (when do they
get a decent name?) And remember, that since the Vikings master the technique of
using Ldraw software, its only necessary to make one of each craft! (remember
to save the buildingplans for everything you make, theyre fun to look back on
when you get better, and anything space worthy is in high demand at the moment).
But until the days of those glorious battles, I guess the Vikings have to limit
themselves to good oldfashioned loot them where theyre week with small
detachments without capital ships and accommodation (so the the troops will just
have to drink some more mead instead of getting medical attention). And fear
not, Im (still) working on a pretty big type of assault craft, so just
concentrate on how to get the fighters to battle (carrier).
By the way. is there anybody that has a .ldr file of some of their capital they
whish to share? Id like to make a battle scene, but havent got any myself (and
fighters look so small in big battles)

It currently has a sort of pull out and rotate tail. That whole rear section
of fuselage is empty and lightweight.
|
Then upload a picture of it so we can see how it works, but I still think you
should add some details there.
|
I like the idea of using gills which could allow for a smaller or thinner
carrier too. Brown aint the most available brick in my collection.
|
Then why do you waste your money on those worthless knights kingdom figures?
Theres still brown parts on sale at S@H!
|
Well, lots to think about here but as everybody knows MOCs go through a lot
of changes and it is great to receive so many ideas. Thanks again Niels and
everyone else.
|
Im glad you dont feel Im too negative and just nagging on your models.
