This sounds good Niels. A Space Viking Assault Craft? LDraw?
Instructions? Oooooh!

Yeah, and its long and slender and formed as a viking ship, and I try to
limit myself to building with pieces I already have, and keep it in brown,
darkgrey, blood red, and a bit of black, but dont get your arms up just
yet: Im building it in MLCad so itll takes ages (its almost as long as
my Hoverbus, which took a couple of months to complete), but so far I have a
good part of the stern, a 21 stud long main gun, 4 smaller guns (growing),
and a mortar nest. Right now Im working on the 12 person cabin and finish
the stern.

Okay, cant type, too busy drooling!
|
But back to your model: You DO record all your models, right?
|
If you mean taking pictures, then yes, I record almost all of them. But if
you mean recording them in LDraw or MLCad then no, not often, if ever. I
keep meaning to get around to it but theres not enough time between work and
study, etc.
|
I meant in MLCad: Theres a large amount of bonus XP to be gained in building by
recreating ones models; Its a great way to see what you actually made, why it
worked, and what couldve been made better (instead of repeating the same error
all the time). And its useful work, as theyre fun to have, and that you
really can get inspiration from them at a later date. Ive got around 50-60
models stored this way, and I think you should seriously consider cutting a bit
back in the newbuilding...
But what can I say, my lego is back at my parents house, so I dont build that
much, and have nothing else to play with than MLCad most of the time.
|
Any chance of a sneak preview of what you have in MLCad so far?
|
Well, Im conflicted about this... I usually save my models for my webpage (and
thereby the far FAR future!), and only show them off here when I absolutely have
to (competitions and the like) as the amount of feedback Ive recieved around
here hardly merits the effort of raytracing and uploading, let alone writing a
presentation or disclosing secret building techniques: This one has almost beat
the record of positive feedback so far without even been finished or shown, so
maybe I should just stick with bragging :-)

It is interesting reading your discussion on space atomics with Jordan. ;)
|
Yes, Im obviously outclassed regarding advanced nuclear weapons and English,
and it seems like the more I try to sneak the discussion into shallow water the
deeper it gets, so now Im trying to read it again carefully, considering what
kind of strategy to employ next...
BTW, What was it again, you were teaching?

PS: I found the game and successfully installed it, but it wont launch without
a joystick, and it turns out that I misses the cd with drivers
So youll have
to wait a little further for the TIE grab
