I found your post very interesting, and you proposed some nice ideas of MOCs.
I really liked the idea of laser propelled vessel (a bit like the space
elevator project)
But, after all, this is science fiction, right? That makes one relatively free
to invent *almost* any technobabble one can think of. That's the fiction part.
But I do think that it is much more cool to be able to create something that's
not (too much) fiction, that is actually achievable with present-day
echnology,
or just a little more (e.g. an matter/antimatter reactor).
That's a greater challenge, since it is too convenient to be able to install a
good-looking greebling, and say that it does the job of defying the laws of
gravity..
once again, I really found your post interesting!
And not a single mention of "poisonous space air". great!
