Thanks. Up to now it is my favourite craft. I haven’t built all that many space MOCs.

The design of the engine (I didn’t even know that was a coffin, lol) is excellent, though I think it could be improved if you used a backing other than white below that transparent piece, or maybe not, it’s something you could experiment with. Perhaps you could set the transparent piece a bit inward, I think it would enhance the look of the engine.

Yeah, the white plate was/is a bit irritating, but as you wrote I was intending to highlight the engine. I know many have used the light trans blue colour for engines, I’ll take a closer look at some of their MOCs.

The use of color is good overall, but the overall scheme is too dark for my tastes. The missile shroud would like nicer if it weren’t the only contrast color on the fighter.

When we at Byggepladen decided on the colour scheme for the Space Vikings we went for Brown, Red, White and Smoked Glass. I know it is dark but brown and black works best for me and yes the red missiles were designed for the colour with a hint of white to keep with the colour scheme. :)

Also, it looks a bit slapped on, and it’s difficult to tell that those domes indeed are the tops of missiles (mainly because only the seeker heads are showing, showing more of the missile body would make it more clear), I thought that they were part of the body before I read your post. I’d try to make the missile shrouds look look more integral.

The missiles are “slapped on” and I kind of know that they look it. :) I had the thought that if they were easy to take on and off they could be replaced with different ordnance pods. But I do think a more integral look would be better.

Overall, though, it’s a very nice craft. I can’t wait to see your carrier.

The carrier is going to be fun and no doubt tricky for me! Thanks again Jordan for your comments and suggestions.

Chris
