Correction. Make that “Minto ran an afternoon phone-in show in Western PA.

Seems that Marty couldn’t figure out when to keep his hateful mouth shut. He opined on-air last week that the Pope probably isn’t going to go to heaven, in essence because JPII didn’t interpret the bible in exactly the same way that Minto’s church of 100 people interprets it.

Here’s the article that discusses his termination. I know enough about him to predict that he’ll use this to paint himself as a persecuted martyr, but that’s just too bad for him. He’ll also probably make some claim about the curtailing of his freedom of speech, which is a bogus argument in this case.

Good riddance to a regressive, intolerant bigot. I hope that whoever replaces him breaks from radio tradition and espouses compassion rather than hatred.
