Much snippage.
Your apology to me, and I suspect to James as well, is not necessary.
It suggests that you haven't yet grasped what the issue is. It is not
one of affront. It is one of appropriateness. I am not personally offended
by religion in general or by this request in particular. I just do not
think it is appropriate for the club AS A CLUB to do this. No amount of
apologising on your part will suffice, what is needed is your
understanding, not your contrition.

As another disinterested third party I would have to concur with Larry.
I'd probably join the show at your church, (even though I'm not Catholic)
but I'd be doing so as an individual.  To participate _as_a_club_ would
not be appropriate - unless the club had agreed that it was something
_the_club_ wanted to do.  Were the topic evolution or Christian morals
or such, it's a safe bet I'd agree with you and disagree with Larry, but
in this case he's quite correct.  Participate as individuals.  And chill. :-)

To All, FUT to lugnet.org.us.michlug I am posting this to debate once, I will not follow through to it here (And if you don't like it, too bad), so if you want to respond to specific MichLUG items, please place it there in orgs.michlug. Otherwise, (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.org.us.michlug)

Much snippage. (...) Note the "as it were" here. This is a figure of speech, I don't believe MICHLUG or MICHLTC actually *has* a banner. (...) There is no "banner". It was figurative. However, if there were, it would not be Chris's decision to make, (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
