Stuff I took out included a Fabuland garage

You passed on it in DC.  What changed?

I took one in DC also (at least I thought I did - I know I took some • Fabuland).

I had thought about taking out the crummy parts to add to a potential • future
junk box, but I decided not to (there isn't too much junk). The box has a
pretty good mix of parts.

Oh good.  I was frightened by the tone of your note earlier talking about • the
suckiness of the box.  For the record, taking out anything that could
reasonably be called junk would have been OK with me.

My first glance showed it to be a lot worse than I realized. Saturday night • I
actually went through quite a bit of the box looking for some extra doo-dads
for my space creation, so I got a better feel for what was in the box. I • think
my original perception was also soured by finding it smelling like a • chimney,
and the general grunginess of things (I wish I had had time to clean it up, • and
not just replace torn baggies - I hope the grunginess didn't cause Shiri too
much problem).

Well this makes me wonder because all the parts I put in were brand new, I • just
opened the box and dumped into brand new baggies. And there was only one other
person between us :( I noticed from looking at the pics there doesn't seem to • be
much of what I put in there.
I didn't think the box could get grungy that fast :(

I'm beginning to wonder if I mixed up the smoky box with something else (Shiri
- who did the box I brought the JB in come from before me - you didn't get
enough of the box into the picture to see the return address? I almost want to
say the return address was Tammy's but that doesn't totally make sense). The
baggies were definitely in sad shape, I replaced almost all of them. I'm
probably mostly just horribly over-reacting based on the baggies and the fact
that so many of the minifigs are missing hands and arms. The past several weeks
have definitely been hectic, with me being home about two weeks between
Thanksgiving and New Years.

Well, I just go the box back yesterday and just looked through it today. I have to say that I am less than enthused. I think that the value of the box is similar to how it was before I dropped the RCX in. So basically, I think it lost about $50 (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)
