This is the key point.  What possible use could there be for a 1x1
window in new sets?  The old style 1x2x2 and 1x2x4 and other sizes of
windows are no longer made, so the 1x1 wouldn't have any "family" to
be used alongside of.  It's just not "cool" enough to warrant use in a
new set.  Can you imagine a Harry Potter or Star Wars set using this
piece?  And I don't just mean using this piece, I mean *needing* it,
enough to justify the cost of creating a mold?  If not, forget it.

Hmm, I seem to have ordered a bag of white classic 1x2x2 windows from
S@H a year or so ago...

They're the new ones, not the old ones. They don't have a projecting lip
that juts out in front at the bottom, as did the entire old family except
the 1x6x3 . If the 1x1 was revived a decision would need to be made whether
to revive it exactly (meaning it can't sit behind a brick as the lip blocks
it) or redesign it somewhat (meaning it is stylistically compatible with the
new 1x2x2

Academically I'd vote for compatible rather than exact replacement.

Are you sure about that lip on the windows, Larry?  I'm at work right now
and can't check, but I seem to recall that the only window that had that
annoying protruding bottom lip that interfered with bricks in front was the
1x6x3.  I thought the 1x4x2, 1x3x2, 1x2x2, 1x1x2, 1x1x1 didn't have the
extended lip, even on the old ones.  I'll check my windows tonight.

Dave!!

(...) Dunno about the rest, but the 1x4x2, 1x2x2 & 1x1x2 definitely had a lipped version. ROSCO (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.nl, lugnet.general)
