    Fence colours —Simon Robinson
   Here's a query to test your Lego knowledge. I'm curious about the trellis fences. The ones I mean are the ones with a 1 x 4 base. They have a trellis fence style (think that's the right word - diagonal criss-crossed pattern). There's one that's 2 (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

     Ah yes! The proverbial lattice fence pieces. Others have already described the 2 different styles. Actually there are 5 different Lattice styles (that I'm aware of) since they first came onto the scene circa 1968. For the 1x4 and 2x4 sizes Joshua (...)       I also remember that the Monorail Transport base had a white one for the piece that had the gear in it, and you could turn a 2X2 cylinder piece to make it go up and down, plus the SP1 large ship had a black one in the front where the canopy can go (...)       Thanks, Gary and every one else who replied. Looks like these fences have appeared in quite a few colours, though never in large quantities.         Darn. I though I was the only one that liked that pink color. I've got a book on Miami Beach Art Deco Architecture of the 1930's. WOW, it is awesome!         Funny that. I was sure I was the only one who liked the pink as well. The main problem I had with Paradisa was I was never too keen on _white_...          To each his/her own, folks, in terms of Lego sets anyway! :) In my humble opinion, I think Belville is still better than Town Junior! I liked Paradisa much better than Belville, I can't incorporate Belville in my Lego Universe anyhow.... Scott (...)           Try incorporating Scala! TLG has divided and conquered my bank account as my family tries to operated _3_ separate Lego universes-- Belville, Scala, and TrainsTrainsTrains.        I got the house simply because I thought it was a neat set, and I wanted to have a pool in my house as well. But yes, if I'm thinking of the right set (6416 Poolside Paradisa) then it is a great set, with some great looking pieces. Definitely very high on my (...)       I was browsing thru some of may old fence pieces, and came across an old parts pack from 1982, small set #1209 (in clear plastic bag) which I purchased in Germany. It was sold with the train accessories, and contains 6 red (2x4) pieces and 1 red (...) (25 years ago, 1-Mar-99, to lugnet.general)

      Thanks for the info Mark, I guess those 2x3 black gates aren't as rare as I originally thought. But to put them together with red fence pieces? That seems pretty strange.        Excuse my ignorance but I can't quite figure out what a gable connector is (even after looking at the 2152 set picture.) (Come to that, what's a gable?)          (...) No problem Simon, a gable (in the context I am using it) is a peak roof piece. A gable connector is one of those 2x2 (regular sloped) peak pieces that looks like someone took a bite out of it. In a roof construction, it is used when you use (...)      I have a Swiss Villa ((URL) has five (5) white pieces of lattice fence. I also have a whole bunch of red lattice fence from a supplement pack from the mid 70's.      Hi Simon, Yes, to all of your questions, tall fences also came/come in white, yellow, blue, black and of course red. I think the short fences also come in these colors as well. There are also red 1x4 gates from the 70's that have basically 1x2 high (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
