Well, one can like the sets without liking the theme, yea I know, it
sounds weird. I think for me the problem is in the details. The Flying
Time Vessel is a nice concept, but just seems lacking in some way. The
Mystic Mountain Time Lab is a real neat structure, but again, just seems
odd and out of place the way it is detailed.

The problem is that not only is he in every Time Cruisers set, he's also
in a bunch of the Freestyle/Classic sets, so you end up with tons of
him.

I guess the problem is that it's such a small theme. Pirates, Castle,
Space, and Town/Train (tow themes which do work together) are all fairly
large themes.

That's what makes the sets worthwhile to buy for parts, but is beside
the point when discussing whether the theme itself is any good.

That's good if your interests are broad enough to use all the parts
(mine happen to be).
