(...) Well, because MLCad's process is so manual, it is very easy to create MPD files that are incomplete or not in the right order. One of MPD's rules is that the first FILE is the top level model. I've fallen into an infinite loop. When I launch LDD, LDD informs me that there is a new version, so I agree to download it. LDD goes through its installation procedure, but each time I go back to LDD, it informs me that there is a new version (...) (19 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

Why not make official POV-Ray Lego bricks and skip the whole LDraw to POV-Ray conversion? Use the same names, scale, and coordinates and all you need is a small script to convert the LDraw lines into POV- Ray lines using the same translations. Or (...) (19 years ago, 1-May-07, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I have used L3P for years, and suddely it went on strike. AutoExec.bat still contains: SET LDRAWDIR=F:\LDraw And the SET command still outputs: LDRAWDIR=F:\LDraw And C:\Windows\ldraw.ini still contains: BaseDirectory=f:\LDraw But running the .bat (...) (19 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) I think I just answered my own question. I applied the inverse rotation (calculated by swapping the off-diagonals) to the translation row of the original transformation and then negated it to get the translation row in the inverse. That worked (...) (19 years ago, 11-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Quarternions are, IMO, a bad way to do what matrices do well. For a rotation you don't need to (and shouldn't) calculate the inverse by a routine. Just transpose (swap the off-diagonals) and you have the inverse. There's no point running (...) (19 years ago, 10-Apr-07, to lugnet.cad)
