Hi, Someone recently mentioned the fact that 9V tracks can only handle a limited number of motors/engines (whatever you call them). CE supports the IR port in a number of "modes". Natively there is: "Raw IR", IrCOMM and IrSock. Using IrCOMM or IrSock programs the port to conform the the IrDA standard for communications. The difference being IrSock is through the WinSock (...) (25 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Probably much simpler to just plug into the serial port that all CE systems use to dock with their Windows/NT hosts. Thanks Russ, Just so you and Lego know how much this type of activity actually does result in greater sales: I have two RCXs and a micro-scout (had to have R2), but was hesitant to purchase the Scout until I heard of the SDK last week.
