Boy is it so nice that 3225 does not come with track or regulator (I
don't know about others, but I have a lot more curved track than I
need). I may be reaching the point where I have more train motors than I
need, but so far I'm not overly endowed with regulators (I've got 4,
right now only one would be considered totally surplus, I use two for my
double oval layout, the power adaptor from the 3rd may get drafted to
run my RCX, and the 4th regulator would make a nice accessory power
source). 2126 of course comes with just cars so is a decent deal.

Other possibilities for bogies are to use the 2x2 tiles with vertical
pin. If you want to make an odd width car (5 or 7 stud) or use 1x2
plates w/center stud, you could use the 5x5 helicopter rotors as the
socket for the pins (hm, do these work with the bogie plates?). There
are of course all sorts of technic bits which could be used also.

It is also worth noting that using two motors seems to give more
consistent speed as the train runs around a large circuit and up and
down grades.

| (...) Yes. (...) It varies. 3225 comes without track or a regulator. 4565 comes without a regulator but with track. 4559 comes with both. 4561 comes with both. There is a version (europe only, I think) of 4561, numbered 4560, that comes without a (...) (25 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)
