Yes. My IR-tower works on the USB --> serial port of an Entrega 2U1S1P multiport USB adapter. The serial port configured itself as (COM3)USB, and the RIS software correctly autodetects COM3 (a pleasant surprise). Some other serial devices also (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

You have to get on ZB's mailing list. They send out coupons periodically. Last weekend that same set was an additional 25% with the ZB coupon for 25% any clearance item. Have you tried a micromotor? I have not tried to motorize my car yet, but that is what I will use for steering. The steering is stiff at the rack on this car and will need some loosening. The micromotor will stall if the load is too great preventing (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

Has anyone used a motor to steer the new 8448? HOW?? I put the RCX in the trunk as everybody pointed out you could do. Then I tore off most of the body decorative pieces to make room to put in a motor to steer the car, so I can use sensors to keep (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Recieved mine on the 4th. It is simply incredible. One thing I really liked was that if you put a motor in it, you can make it run. Also, I put my Mindstorm RCX in the trunk(it slots in way too easily, as though it was meant too) and ran a wire to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Yes, the new 8448 is just the same. I just finished building it about 10 minutes ago. There are two instruction books. One just to finish the running hardware, and a second to start upper body and non-moving parts. The second manual is thick as a (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Has anyone else had this problem?I went to download the linux egcs compiler from the legOS site.I downloaded right, but it only downloaded ~2 megs, while the page said it was supposed to download ~3megs.
