Yeah, I would really like to see such an expansion too!
Someone was talking about an I2C bus interface, but the thread appearently
died out - Is someone working on this?. I could also think of a "dummy RCX"
which cannot be programmed but will respond to IR signals and have inputs and
outputs. In this way the number of I/O could be improved (like Philippe
suggested). Does anyone have a link to a specification of the RCX IR
protocol? If someone does I could imagine myself puzzling with this subject.

| Is it possible to get the uploaded datalog from the RCX into a file using Rcx Command Center? (PS great work Dave and Mark!) Failing that, does someone have a *simple* (ie one which needs no interaction apart from giving a filename) Win95 prog. that (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| The mindstorm internals (very very good pages...) : (URL) has a section called "Communication". Here is the beginning : "The RCX uses a 38kHz carrier, which is pretty typical for TV remotes. As for the sampling rate, the RCX runs at 2400 bps, which (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| Hi! Rcx has only 3 i/o's. I was wondering if anybody had made a real expansion board (not fake tricks with 1 light+1switch sensor on the same port. I'd be very interested byt something more complex...) with IR comunication ? This could add a lot of (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
