(...) Heh. At 1000steine, they discussed this very issue a while back. I think they determined that the 4896 came down to a single element that was too new to be available in the original gray. OK, some updates for you. I was able to get to Javits today (in one of the worst snowstorms to hit the east coast in a while, the buses weren't running, the ride I cadged got stuck, the trains were all having sticking door problems, etc etc... the (...) That may mean the base has a standard 9V lead on it though, so it would let you use it to run a 9V motorised crane or, my favourite, the miniature (...) (...) The Creator and Designer sets have been doing that as well, with the piece inventories. I figured it's only a matter of time before they filtered to other themes. (...) I think TLG have been listening. Inventories in instructions is something I've been asking for. I'm not sure how many more of us have been asking too. Hi, I just bought set 65767, a Knights Kingdom combo consisting of sets 8801 (Attack over the sea) and 8802 (Vladek's Sea Fortress), and to my big surprise, the design of the instructions have been changed.
