I've never tried that - it sounds like a good idea, although for some reason I'd
feel more guilty about "modifying" the minifig fireman's axe than I would about a
3-axle with stud :-)

PS. Who needs the studs on the 3L axles anyway?:) *gone in search of more
sanding paper*

There are some great uses for these - they can be used to hold in a bracing beam
if you don't want the entire width of the hole in the beam occupied. This saved an
8 tooth gear from being rebored in my latest model!
