Just hanging off of Larry's post semi-randomly.... Some thoughts on storage and building: My storage scheme is that parts which sort into a large volume get stored in Hefty One-Zip freezer weight bags, and then get stored in tubs and drawers of (...) (23 years ago, 20-May-01, to lugnet.storage)

(...) A 2x4 is large and pointy, compared to drain pipes (a lot of which are 1.5" or 2" I.D. and that's before grease/hair etc narrow them, so it depends on how long and or twisty the run is. One 2 x4 brick escaped my collander to go down the drain in my bathroom sink. Has anyone else had this experience? My sink has not slowed- yet... Will it just flush on through? (...) I use pull-out drawers (IRIS) and don't have that problem. The drawers are big enough that you can pull one out 1/3 of the way and the one below it 2/3 of the way, and access both. I'm more concerned about keeping the bricks out of direct sunlight. I avoid tiltbins for a different reason: I can't fill them up as much. If anything, I'd like to move to a system that has large opaque drawers, say 28" x 20", which can hold any (...) (23 years ago, 18-May-01, to lugnet.storage)

I was under the impression that Wal-mart once claimed their prices were lower because their stores were all the same and they saved on the unloading from the trucks because of the consistency. Hah! Most of the solutions already posted are probably the best professional ways to store separate stuff but my method is all econo style. Yogurt Containers! Greetings. Perhaps my most vexing storage issue these days is how to store my shields without having them get scratched. Lately, I've just had minifigs holding them, but that takes up baseplates that I'd rather use for other purposes. Does anyone (...)
