Hey all -
I'm seeking input on whether or not my current space craft MOC should use
ladders or a turbolift (aka elevator) to go from level to level.

Mark,

I think your decision depends on the layout of your ship. For example, my
A-Wing Carrier used ladders and lifts in different places. The elevator
connected the main deck (including sickbay, galley, escape pods, etc.) with
the captain's cabin and the bridge. The ladders connected the main deck with
the hanger bay. Check out my Brickshelf folder:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=1554

You'll notice that I incorporated an elevator shaft to connect 3 decks
-bridge, captain's cabin and main deck (look for the green elevator doors).
The long corridor on the main deck leads to a fork and the ladder shafts
down to the hanger bay. Note: my elevator wasn't functional (too lazy to try
and make a working one) but I had the room. If you have the room and the
layout is right, go for it! It doesn't have to be enclosed, either. You
could go for the open lift like Deep Space 9. Well, good luck!

Dan

Awesome ship Dan! I remember when you first posted it a while back. Looking
(closer) at it now it's great to see all the details you have. I've been
thinking that the DS9 "open" look might be good, though I now have a lot to
consider on this decision thanks to everyone's posts.

Hopefully my decision will be evident during the next SEALug meeting where
pictures can be taken...
