It just wouldn't be me if I didn't interject myself uninvited into the
conversation.

While I whole heartedly agree with Jeremy concerning the short sitedness of
a policy that blindly and uniformly excludes people based on age, inspite of
talent. However, I just as strongly agree that NELUG has the right to set
whatever rules they wish. Heck if they want to restrict their club to only
members who have the same yellow complexion as mini-figs, so be it. Talented
teenage builders in the area will simply find other outlets to express
themself. Since I have been around Lugnet some very impressive stuff has
come from people under 18.

My advice to anyone frozen out by this rule is see if there is enough
regional intrest to start up your own lug. Personally I like the name NELUG
Jr. but I have seen threats of legal action if you use a trademarked club
term, so you may have to be more creative.

Other exclusive Lugs:
Tublug - members must weigh over 250lbs.
genxlug - members must be between 25 and 35
pluglug - members must be plumbers
chuglug - members must be alcoholics

just some suggestions.

(...) Insults...? Okaaaay, hold that thought. (...) I found them. (1) I was quite surprised to read them, too. You claim to dislike being a judge of people, and yet you are being a judge in a fairly callous way IMHO. Perhaps you could find better (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.people)
