I feel your pain. I was lamenting much the same thing when I was at TRU last
week. However....

Hasbro plans to release these transformers in the USA this fall, accompanied
by a cartoon.

:^)
There is also a really nice series of Macross Valkyrie fighters being
released in Japan right now. Unfortunately, there's a legal debate between
Big West and Harmony Gold over who owns the rights to distribute in the
United States, so US release is being postponed.
Still, I bought one over the 'net, and these things are darn cool:

Apparently Yamato also has plans to release the VF-1 fighters from the
original Macross (Robotech in the US) Series.

I liked GI-Joe a lot, and you can still get collectors packs of the 3 3/4
inch figs and vehicles at TRU. Zoids never did much for me, because you
couldn't really play with them that much. They were more like models that
had wind-up or battery features.

Yeah, Pokemon collectibles are losing value rapidly, I hear. Funny, a friend
of mine sold two full sets of the cards a year ago and made a mint. Guess
you have to know when to get out when you're playing the collector game. :^)

| If we had Oscars for best posting and best links in a posting I think Mark Sandlin would clean up. I'm a huge Macross fan and by amazing coincidence I started to build a Valkyrie just today. I had to stop as I've run out of bricks due to having to (...) (24 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
